Chery’s upcoming plant in Dalian is expected to manufacture vehicles not only for its proposed joint venture with Subaru, but also some of its brands including export models.

Chery’s brands that will be rolled out from the plant include the Riich and Rely models.

The US$472.4m facility will also house services such as welding, painting, and chassis. Additionally, Chery is also planning for a training centre at the plant.

Chery’s new production plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2011 and production is expected to start by 2013.

The Chinese automaker’s proposed joint venture with Subaru is currently awaiting government approval.
