Chery exported 77,000 vehicles in the first three quarters of the year, worth $US530m, an estimated 2.2 times higher than exports in the previous year.
It expects shipments to reach 100,000 units this year, almost double the 2006 tally worth $700m, according to a local report.
Chery has annual production capacity of 400,000 cars, 400,000 engines and 300,000 transmission cases but is aiming for 1m cars by 2010.
The automaker has a deal to provide 100,000 engines to Fiat and make small cars for Chrysler to sell worldwide.
Earlier this month, Chery began to sell cars called Qiyun, Eastar and QQ in the Philippines.
