Chang’an Suzuki, the joint venture of Changan Auto and Suzuki, will add 250,000-unit vehicle production capacity by 2015.
Chang’an Suzuki will start constructing its second factory in the Banan district of Chongqing by the end of 2011. Chang’an Suzuki will invest CNY5bn (US$824.7m) to construct the factory. By 2013, an annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles and 150,000 engines will be created. This capacity will be further expanded to 250,000-unit vehicle and 300,000 engines by 2015. The factory will employ 3,000 local employees. Chang’an Suzuki expects to increase annual sales by CNY30bn through the new factory.
