The Azeri-Chinese joint venture will be built on the site of a plant that currently produces UAZ vehicles designed by Russia’s Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant and Oka compact cars.

The facility is expected to produce small and medium-sized ChangAn cars and assembly kits.

ChangAn auto company is the fourth largest carmaker in China, and controls 37% of China’s economy car market, ITAR-TASS noted.
