According to a statement issued by Chinese steelmaker Benxi Iron and Steel Company (Benxi Steel), it will soon be supplying steel plate for automobile production to Dongfeng Nissan Motor.

The plates which the Liaoning province-based firm says it will provide for Dongfeng Nissan include steel grades such as P170, P250, St16 and H180.

Earlier in November, Dongfeng Nissan said that it plans to expand production at its Xiangfan plant from 120,000 units to 200,000 units annually by August 2012. In addition, a new 240,000-unit factory in the Huadu district of Guangzhou will be opened in January, while a further facility in Zhengzhou will lift its output from the current 100,000 cars per annum to 200,000.
