Volkswagen-owned Bentley sold 338 cars in China and Hong Kong last year, up 93% from one year earlier.
Last year, the luxury car maker sold 258 Bentley cars in mainland China, now the automaker’s fifth largest market and its fastest growing region after the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan, Gasgoo.com reported.
Bentley sold 4,196 units in the United States and 2,079 units in the United Kingdom last year. Worldwide sales rose 7% to 10,014 units while sales in Asia alone were up 18% in the same year.
BMW sales chief Stefan Krause said earlier his group’s Rolls Royce brand, which has just announced a new luxury coupe model, sold 185 units in Asia last year, 106 of those in China.
He said R-R sold 1,100 units worldwide in 2007. China is now its third largest market after the US and UK.
