A four-day strike at Wescast Industries’ Wingham plant ended on Monday after employees ratified a new contract a day earlier, the company told the Reuters news agency.

About 165 employees at the Wingham, Ontario, machining plant reportedly went on strike last Thursday over wages and benefits, affecting production at the company which supplies major North American manufacturers including Ford and Nissan.
Brantford, Ontario-based Wescast, which makes exhaust manifolds for cars and light trucks, told Reuters on Monday that customer shipments were not affected by the strike.
