General Motors of Canada has confirmed it will manufacture the new Chevrolet Camaro at its Oshawa, Ontario, car plant.

According to Dow Jones, the car manufacturer said the new product programme and conversion of the Oshawa plant to a state-of-the-art flexible manufacturing facility represents a $C740m ($US658m) investment, with preparatory work beginning immediately.
The Oshawa plant will build the new Camaro, with early production versions at the end of 2008 and start of sales in the first quarter of 2009.
