The Canadian units of General Motors and Chrysler have yet to draw on C$4bn (US$3.2bn) in loans made available by the federal and Ontario provincial governments, a minister has said.

“Chrysler has not drawn down, nor has GM,” federal industry minister Tony Clement told Reuters without elaborating. Ford Canada had not asked for a rescue package.

Clement said negotiations continued with Chrysler and GM, with constant interaction with the US government as well.
