BYD Ecuador and the Latin American Energy Organisation (OLADE) have signed an interinstitutional cooperation agreement to boost electrification in Latin America and the Caribbean.
OLADE, headed by executive secretary, Andres Rebolledo Smitmans, and BYD, represented by Ecuador country manager Jorge Burbano, signed the agreement.
Established in 1973, OLADE is an intergovernmental cooperation organisation dedicated to fostering energy integration, development, and conservation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Burbano said: “We are…. leveraging our expertise in electric mobility and energy solutions.”
The collaboration will encompass promoting sustainable mobility, conducting workshops, and providing specialised training targeting public and private sectors, academia, specialised guilds, and society in Latin America and the Caribbean.
BYD vehicles will be used in electromobility studies.
