Local truck dealers boosted sales 131% to 81 units, according to the report. Truck sales rose 53% to 1,241 units last year.
Iveco’s four dealers took 79.1% of January sales when 2,602 new trucks, motorcycles, buses and automobiles were sold, up 33.7% year-on-year.
But Reuters noted that the UIAB data is not comprehensive because it excludes several vehicle traders which are not members of the industry association.
January automobile sales were reported at 2,521 units compaed with 1,904 a year earlier.
Peugeot dealer Sofia France Auto led in January, selling 325 units for a market share of 12.89%. Toyota dealer TM Auto was runner-up with 238 sales and a market share of 9.44%.
The General Motors Europe Opel Astra was the best-selling model of the month in Bulgaria with 132 units, Reuters noted.
