Trucks are emerging as the fastest-rising segment of Bulgaria’s new vehicle market in 2006, Reuters reported, citing Union of the Importers of Automobiles in Bulgaria (UIAB) data.
Local truck dealers boosted sales 131% to 81 units, according to the report. Truck sales rose 53% to 1,241 units last year.
Iveco’s four dealers took 79.1% of January sales when 2,602 new trucks, motorcycles, buses and automobiles were sold, up 33.7% year-on-year.
But Reuters noted that the UIAB data is not comprehensive because it excludes several vehicle traders which are not members of the industry association.
January automobile sales were reported at 2,521 units compaed with 1,904 a year earlier.
