Although it has abandoned efforts to build a manufacturing plant in Russia, an assembly operation in Bulgaria is being planned according to the Bulgarian government.


A report in the South China Morning Post said Great Wall plans to invest in a car plant at Lovech, about 170 kilometres northeast of Sofia.


The news followed a meeting between Great Wall executives and Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev.
