Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company (STIB) has started trialling the EasyMile EZ10 autonomous shuttles at Parc de Woluwe in the Belgian capital.
The EZ10s will serve a route of 1.8km with 5 stops, operating from Friday to Sunday between 13:00 to 19:00 until 22 September. The public will be able to travel in the shuttles for free.
The project is implemented in partnership with Brussels Environment, which manages the Park of Woluwe, Solvay, USH (Lab Box/D’Ieteren), the municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre and the RATP group.
The news follows Transdev Canada launching an AV public shuttle service on open roads, in the heart of Montreal, with two EasyMile EZ10 autonomous shuttles, in a pilot that will extend to 4 August.
Since 21 June, Transdev and the City of Montreal reached a new milestone: a pilot autonomous shuttles deployment in a dense urban environment, in normal traffic, connecting Montreal’s Olympic Park metro station with Maisonneuve Market.
In the project, Transdev operates EasyMile EZ10 autonomous shuttles which circulate in normal daily traffic conditions, crossing intersections equipped with intelligent traffic signals with which the shuttles communicate.
