Fiat has agreed to transfer production of its new Panda from Poland to Italy in a move that should secure a EUR700m investment at its Pomigliano d’Arco plant near Naples.
The automaker has been involved in a protracted and sometimes bitter dispute with its unions – notably the FIOM organisation concerning the introduction of new working practices – but appears to have resolved the issue with the other workers’ representatives.
