Sales of cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses rose 2.94% to 303,108 units last month. On the other hand, sales declined 1.28% in September due to fewer working days.

For the first 10 months of the year, sales climbed 8.04% to 2.8m vehicles from 2.59m in the same period of 2009, Dow Jones reported.

Fiat was the market leader with a 21.89% share followed by Volkswagen (21.24%) and General Motors (19.44%).
