The Woodbridge Group has announced the opening of its latest automotive moulded seating foam plant located in Capivari, Brazil. This 7,000sq m, factory is capable of producing about 0.5m car sets per year and is close to many Tier One and OEM customers who continue to build new plants in the region.

Despite a difficult 2015 in Brazil, vehicle production is expected to normalise and grow. Forecasters predict a robust recovery in 2017 followed by annual growth of 3-5% through the forecast horizon. Investment in the region continues, as Brazil is the seventh largest global vehicle market, has a low motorisation rate and expectations of an improved local economic climate.

At full capacity the plant will employ 150 making seating foam initially but the plant will be expanded to produce interior parts such as head restraints and arm rests.
