Toyota has said it will start selling new models of the Corolla compact car in Brazil on Thursday. The models will be flex-fuel and able to run on bioethanol.
Toyota will put on the Brazilian market the sedan and station wagon models of the Corolla, which were both introduced in Japan in October 2006.
The Brazilian unit will also export the new models to other Latin American countries according to a Kyodo news report.
Toyota expects to boost its 2008 Corolla sales by 50% from the previous year to 51,000 units.
Toyota expects overall auto sales in the Brazilian market to surpass 3 million vehicles in 2010.
