Inteva Products has opened a new closure systems manufacturing plant in Cordeiropolis, Brazil.

The 40,000 sq ft facility Cordeiropolis Operations and Technical Centre includes an engineering testing centre, manufacturing lines for door latches and window regulators, plus open space to accommodate planned expansions in 2012 and 2013. Inteva has approximately 100 employees in Cordeiropolis with plans to add approximately 25 to accommodate new business in 2012.

“Brazil and the South American market hold a significant place in our global growth plans,” said Lon Offenbacher, president and CEO at the opening ceremony. “We have tremendous opportunities on the horizon to grow our business here in Brazil.  My hope is that one day in the future, Brazil will be a center of production for products from all four of our product lines.”

Three new window regulator production lines are planned for Cordeiropolis. One will open by March 2012 to serve a European automaker and two will open in April 2013 to serve an American automaker.

Inteva this year also has opened new engineering technical centres in Shanghai, China and Vandalia, Ohio.

Inteva’s Closure Systems product line has operations in 17 countries across four continents.
