Antonio Augusto Anastasia, governor of the second most populous Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, has said he would like to have the Tata Nano in Brazil.
Tata started exporting the Nano in 2011 with completely built units (CBU) currently being exported to Sri Lanka and Nepal.
The carmaker is currently looking at the possibility of CKD shipments for overseas assembly.
Brazil assembly would require at least 65% local content to meet recent new rules intended to protect the local auto industry.
