While Ford of Europe is expected soon to launch a completely redesigned Ka on a platform shared with Fiat’s 500, Ford Brazil has updated the 10-year-old original for 2008.
Sales begin later this month. According to just-auto’s local correspondent, the updated car was designed and styled in Brazil and is longer and larger overall than the original model though it retains the original platform and wheelbase.
There’s now room for five passengers and the price will be “specially competitive”. The interior has also been redone with a completely new dashboard.
The Brazilian model comes with petrol/ethanol flex-fuel engines – a 73hp one-litre eight-valve motor 110hp 1.6-litre 16-valve unit.
