BMW's Mini brand is improving the connectivity of some models starting from March 2018.
The recently updated three and five door hatchback models plus convertible will be 'available' (read optional extra in some cases) with 4G connectivity.
According to BMW, the refreshed Mini Connected app "will allow drivers to access personalised services designed to make day-to-day mobility and planning even easier".
Current features such as Intelligent Emergency Call and Teleservices will be joined by new services including Concierge, Real Time Traffic Information with navigation map updates and Mini Online.
A new built-in 4G SIM card (monthly charges will apply) and updated app will allow drivers to access a variety of new digital services which will be standard for Countryman and Clubman buyers and optional at extra cost, and as part of the the Navigation Plus package for hatchback and convertible models.
The newly available Concierge can source information and address data, research connections and offer practical tips.
