BMW Group’s worldwide deliveries slipped 4.9% in the second quarter to 590,962 units, hit by a 30.2% fall in China.
The German manufacturer handed over roughly 1.15 million vehicles globally in the first half of 2026, down 4.2% on the same period last year, as softness in China and the broader Asia-Pacific market outweighed gains in Europe and the US.

European deliveries climbed 5.4% over the half-year to 496,651 units, while the Americas region advanced 3% to 244,199 units.
Germany alone rose 10.2% to 149,135 units. In the US, deliveries increased 3.9% to 200,661 units, with the BMW brand outpacing the wider market there, largely on the strength of X model sales.
The China sales region recorded a 20.4% decline for the half-year, to 261,773 units, while the Fourth Pillar region fell 9.6% to 151,751 units.
By brand, the core BMW marque delivered close to a million vehicles in the first half, down 6.2%, though it grew in both Europe, up 1.5%, and the US, up 4.7%.
BMW M shipped 99,595 vehicles, down 6%.
Mini delivered 81,035 vehicles in the quarter, up 17.1%, and 149,538 for the half, up 11.7% — its sixth straight quarter of growth, driven chiefly by fully electric models.
Rolls-Royce handed over 2,523 vehicles in the half, down 9.8%, and BMW Motorrad delivered 102,847 motorcycles and scooters, down 2.9%.
Fully electric BMW and Mini sales rose 5.2% in the quarter to 116,807 units, aided by the new iX3’s launch.
Europe led BEV growth, up 38% to 81,445 units, pushing BMW to second place in Germany’s electric vehicle registrations for the quarter.
Year-to-date BEV deliveries fell 7.4% to 204,295 units; combined electrified deliveries also fell 7.4%, to 295,407.
The new BMW X5 was unveiled in the US in late June.
BMW customer, brands, sales management board member Jochen Goller said: “Despite challenges worldwide, we achieved positive sales results in the US and Europe. The Neue Klasse continues to show strong momentum. With the BMW iX3*, we are on track to reach the next major milestone of 100,000 new orders.
“The second Neue Klasse model, the BMW i3, is already seeing strong demand since orders opened ahead of its launch.”
