Toyota Motor Corp has appointed Tokuichi Uranishi president and chief executive officer of its European holding company, Toyota Motor Europe (TME) from June 28.
Shinichi Sasaki becomes president and CEO of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing Europe (TMEM) and executive vice-president of TME. Takis Athanasopoulos has been appointed managing officer of TMC, executive VP of TME, and a member of the board of directors of TMEM.
Uranishi and Sasaki succeed Shuhei Toyoda, who previously held both positions, and will become executive VP at Toyota Boshoku Corporation, an automotive interior components supplier.
Thierry Dombreval, currently senior VP, sales and aftersales, Toyota Motor Marketing Europe (TMME), will replace Athanasopoulos as the new executive VP and COO of TMME.
Uranishi will also be named member of the board of TME. In addition to his current title of senior managing director for the Europe and Africa divisions of TMC, he will also now be responsible for TMC’s overseas marketing and planning activities.
