Following our snide remarks on Wednesday about the ‘tiny’ preview picture we were sent of the PSA Peugeot Citroën and Toyota Motor Corporation jointly developed Peugeot 107, Toyota Aygo and Citroën C1 models, Toyota Europe’s press office promptly sent a full-size one which enables exterior details of the new cars to be scrutinised more closely.

As is usually the case with ‘shared’ models like this, the central body structure including the doors is shared while the front fenders, bonnet, headlights, bumpers and tail lights provide individual brand differentiation.

Two interesting items are the single windscreen wiper and pop-out, rather than wind-down, windows in the rear doors.

The three new models will make their public debut at the Geneva Motor Show next March.

All three are about 3.4 meters long, 1.6 meters wide and 1.4 meters high and will have one-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines. The cars are primarily designed for European markets.
