Ford said on Monday it would cut production capacity of the [newly facelifted] Mondeo line by 11,000 cars at its Belgian Genk unit in the second half of the year, according to Reuters.

“We feel obliged to cut production capacity,” Ford Belgium spokesman Wilfried Baeken told Reuters, referring to a slump in the car market.

The plant in the eastern part of Belgium employs some 10,000 workers who daily produce 1,650 Ford Mondeos alongside 480 Ford Transit models, the news agency noted.
