Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been re-elected president of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA). This will be his second consecutive term.

ACEA said a high priority in 2013 will be to continue to push for “a meaningful and supportive” EU-wide industrial policy. It plans to closely follow the process launched with CARS 2020 in order to ensure that the initiatives announced by the European Commission are actually followed through.

“Level playing fields must be the norm in international trade relations,” the trade group said. “In 2013, ACEA will therefore continue to make the case for fair and balanced trade agreements.”

Also high on the agenda: sustainable mobility.
