DaimlerChrysler and Austrian car distributor MB-Automobilvertriebsgesellschaft (MAV) have won permission from the European Commission for a joint venture, according to Reuters.

The two firms will acquire joint control of Hungarian car importer and distributor DaimlerChrysler Automotive Hungaria Kereskedelmi Kft.
“The Commission concluded that the transaction will not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area or any substantial part of it,” the bloc’s executive said in a statement cited by the news agency.
