Saab’s 9-3 saloon will go on sale across China from the end of June.

The 9-3 joins the larget 9-5 saloon in the world’s fastest growing car market.

“We expect Saab’s understated European styling and high performance to appeal to Chinese consumers,” said Saab Automobile chairman and CEO Peter Augustsson.

GM China Group chairman Phil Murtaugh added: “We are bringing in Saab products that meet the specific demands of well-educated and discerning professionals in China. These are people who seek something different to conventional premium saloons.”

Separately, Saab GB managing director Jonathan Nash said UK sales were up by over 15% so far this year.
