Chinese search engine Baidu has said it has tested its autonomous driving technology in a BMW 3 GT on Beijing roads.
A report in The China Daily said the vehicle finished the test drive in autonomous mode under experts' supervision. The top speed during the drive reached 100 km/h, the report said. The self-driven vehicle had to "reduce speed, switch lanes, take U-turn, enter and exit the highway" according to The China Daily.

Baidu has said that it plans to put self-driving buses on China's roads in three years.
Baidu is also in a partnership with BMW to produce a passenger car, although no expected launch date has been announced.
Analysts say Baidu hopes to tap into revenue streams based on the services it could provide in its autonomous vehicles.
