Renault-Nissan and Rostec State Corporation say they expect to appoint Serguey Skvortsov as AvtoVAZ chairman, with Denis Le Vot elected as vice chairman following the Russian automaker’s annual shareholder meeting on 23 June in Togliatti.
Carlos Ghosn, CEO and chairman of Renault-Nissan, is chairman of Alliance Rostec Auto, the holding company controlling AvtoVAZ and both he and Rostec CEO, Sergey Chemezov, will continue to play an active role in the Togliatti company.
The Renault-Nissan Alliance has a majority stake in Alliance Rostec Auto, with Renault, Nissan, Datsun and AvtoVAZ’s Lada brand, building vehicles together in Togliatti and other plants throughout Russia.
Skvortsov, Rostec’s deputy general and industrial director, graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1986 and was a principal partner in the ‘Troika Dialog’ investment company, which created the new AvtoVAZ shareholder structure.
Le Vot has been a member of Renault’s management committee since January last year and was appointed Renault’s SVP and chairman of the Eurasia region in April.
In 2011, he became deputy managing director of Renault Russia and in September, 2013, he started as VP sales & marketing for Renault’s top global markets.
