
Accenture has brokered a deal to acquire AOX, a German firm specialising in embedded software for the automotive industry.
This strategic move aims to strengthen Accenture’s ability to support its automotive clients as they navigate the complexities of transitioning to software-defined vehicles.
AOX specialises in designing and developing the complex system architectures and “high-performance” software that are central to modern vehicle performance and features.
The company assists car manufacturers and suppliers shift from traditional software engineering to more integrated, scalable architectures.
Christof Horn, who leads the automotive practice of Accenture’s digital engineering and manufacturing service, Industry X, in Europe, said: “Software expertise is becoming the dominating factor in the auto market. This is where AOX excels.
“The company’s expertise in high-performance computing, real-time operating systems and the entire software development process makes them an ideal addition to Accenture.”

By GlobalDataBased in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany, AOX has a team of over 50 professionals, who will now join Accenture’s Industry X engineering division.

The deal will bolster Accenture’s position in the European automotive sector as AOX’s client base includes major German carmakers and key automotive suppliers.
