Perth-based Tasman Resources NL has signed an agreement with four local partners to replace 10,000 diesel buses in Beijing with low-emission gas-powered buses.

Access Asia said Tasman, which is currently acquiring a 20% interest in Brehon Energy Plc and a 49% stake in Brehon Far East Pty Ltd through its subsidiary, Eden Energy Ltd, will undertake the China bus conversion project through Brehon Far East.

The buses will run on Hythane, a US-patented mixture of hydrogen and natural gas which Brehon acquired from Hydrogen Components Inc in April 2004.
