Mazda, Australia’s best-selling imported car brand, is recalling the redesigned 6 due to a potential fire hazard under the passenger seat.
Localpapers reported the recall affects 1,500 new car owners nationally and another 1000 people waiting on delivery. The car’s hi-tech energy recovery system may overheat.
Mazda Australia spokesman Steve Maciver told The Advertiser the recall was part of a failure of a “plug-and-play” third-party component and the backlog would be fixed by mid-April at the latest.
