Indian utility vehicle maker Mahindra is going Down Under this year.
A dealer-recruitment advertisement in an Australian motor trade publication said importer and distributor TMI Pacific from “early 2007” would be selling 2WD and 4WD single and dual cab vehicles with Euro IV-compliant turbo diesel engines, fully compliant with Australian Design Regulations (ADR).
TMI’s ad said it would be establishing a dealer network in rural and metropolitan areas across Australia beginning in New South Wales (the most populated state) “with subsequent expansion to other states soon thereafter”.
“The engineering and build quality is exceptional and will have strong appeal for both metro and rural market applications for a rugged go anywhere working utility (or ‘ute’, Australian for ‘pickup truck’), providing value for money and customer satisfaction,” TMI added.
