Former GM de Mexico executive Ed Butler has joined Kia Automotive Australia as national sales manager, responsible for maintaining and developing Kia’s growth in Australia and managing its regional offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

While at GM de Mexico, Butler successfully relaunched Saab on the Mexican market. Butler has also worked for General Motors Korea with the Cadillac and Saab brands and was also responsible for the pre-launch plans for Alfa Romeo in Korea. This role also included development of the first GM “Premium Retail Environment” in the Asia Pacific Region.
Prior to working directly for General Motors, Butler was with GM subsidiary, Saab, where he was responsible for business development in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. His retail experience includes time with one of the largest luxury car retailers in the Middle East, based in Dubai.
“Ed Butler comes to Ateco with a wealth of valuable experience, including working as sales and marketing director for General Motors Korea which provides him with a useful insight into working with Korean companies,” said Kia Automotive Australia managing director Ric Hull.
