Daewoo has appointed J.Y. Park as the new managing director of its Australian operation. Park, 50, is a long serving employee of the company, having joined the group in 1977 after graduating in economics at the University of Korea. He has worked for Daewoo in Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey and as plant and purchasing manager in Poland.

The new appointment results from a decision to re-inject vital management skills
from Seoul into the Australian operation, seen as a highly strategic subsidiary
of Daewoo Motor.
