Sales of the diesel versions of Citroën’s C5 sedan and wagon have now overtaken the sales of the petrol versions as Australian motorists look for a way of countering rising petrol costs, reports Citroën’s Australian subsidiary.
“Sales of the diesel versions of the Citroën C5 have exceeded our expectations from their launch in Australia,” says Miles Williams, General Manager for Citroën in Australia. “But as petrol prices have gone up, we have seen demand increase to the point where we are now selling more diesel Citroën C5s than petrol versions.”
“In a market that sees large cars as the norm, it is not surprising that the response to rising petrol prices is a switch to diesel power,” adds Williams.
