Amazon has announced the arrival of its Rivian custom electric delivery vans (EDVs) in Europe.

Three hundred EDVs will be introduced in Munich, Berlin, and Dusseldorf in the coming weeks, joining a fleet of 1,000 electric vans in Germany.

In 2022, Amazon announced plans to spend EUR1bn to electrify its European transportation network, including EUR400m in Germany alone.

Amazon first introduced Rivian vans in the US in summer 2022 and now has 3,000 in 500 US cities and regions.

The company goal is 100,000 Rivians by 2030.

Amazon has installed “thousands of charging stations at its facilities across Europe”, according to Rivian.
