“We selected this location because this region offered a site that was ready for our company to start up immediately and we definitely saw a favourable business environment,” said NAFTA business unit for Adler Pelzer Group, Alberto Buniato.

APG delivers components optimising acoustic performance and increasing thermal efficiency of vehicles. The company has built a network of manufacturing plants, research and design facilities close to the main automotive hubs in major geographic regions, in more than 70 locations with 12,000 employees worldwide.

“In our business, geographical proximity to OEMs is significantly important because we produce large components, meaning the cost of logistics is critical,” added Buniato. “We see this location as ideal between our customers to the north and south.”

The Regional Growth Partnership worked with JobsOhio, along with local partners in the city of Oregon and Lucas County. JobsOhio provided a grant for new machinery and equipment, while the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a Job Creation Tax Credit.

“We and our local partners welcome Adler Pelzer to Ohio, where it will produce nearly 80 new jobs to manufacture automotive thermal components,” said JobsOhio president and CEO, J P Nauseef.

“Adler Pelzer’s decision to choose Ohio for its new North American operations demonstrates the advantages of the resilient economy and skilled workforce in this State.”

APG hopes to start the formal recruiting process for new employees this autumn, with plans to begin operations in early 2021.
