Honda America has announced the Acura brand’s first electric model, the 2024 ZDX and ZDX Type S.
The ZDX A-Spec single-motor is anticipated to receive an EPA range rating of 325 miles.
Acura will offer the A-Spec in both single motor (rear wheel drive) and dual motor (all wheel drive) configurations starting “in the $60,000 range”.
The Type S will have a “performance tuned” dual motor AWD powertrain and is expected to start “in the $70,000 range”.
All sales will take place through a new, omni-channel digital sales process, allowing shopping experience home or at a dealership. First customer deliveries are slated for early 2024.
Exterior and interior styling was headed by the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles.

A driver oriented cockpit has high end materials, premium features and “expansive intuitive” technology, including the brand’s first integration of Google for appl like Assistant, Maps and Play.

Safety and driver assistive technology adds rear cross traffic braking and blind zone steering assist.
Type S has Hands Free Cruise on up to 400,000 miles of compatible roads and automatic parking assist.
DC Fast Charging can handle rates up to 190 kW givng the 102kWh lithium ion battery pack in the A-Spec an estimated 81 miles of range in 10 minutes.
As part of an announced joint venture between seven major automakers, Acura EV owners will have access to a leading high speed brand neutral charging network in the United States and Canada starting in 2024.
The first stations are scheduled to open in the United States in the summer of 2024, and Canada at a later stage.
