Kia SP concept: a future small SUV, should be the second model for Kia’s forthcoming Indian plant. This is being erected in Anantapur District in the state of Andhra Pradesh at a cost of the equivalent of US$1.1bn. Construction commenced in the final quarter of 2017. The manufacturing facility is expected to begin production in the second half of 2019 and produce up to approximately 300,000 units each year. As well as the SUV, the Penukonda plant in Anantapur District will also make a small sedan. The SP project might be related to China’s existing KX3 and/or the forthcoming NP.

Mahindra & Mahindra showed the SsangYong Rexton for the first time in India but with Mahindra badges. It will go on sale towards year-end. M&M also revealed a prototype of the eKUV100, a plug-in version of its small SUV.
