American Honda’s 2017 went on sale across the US on Friday (19 August) with few changes. The five-door subcompact hatchback, badged as the Jazz in many markets, was first introduced to the US in 2006 as a 2007 model.

A 2017 model year change:, Lunar Silver metallic replaces Alabaster Silver in the colour choice. Prices start at US$15,990.

US specification is a 1.5-litre I4 petrol engine with DOHC cylinder head and i-VTEC+VTC valve and timing control plus direct fuel injection, the first use of such a system in a US Honda subcompact. The engine delivers 130 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 114 lb-ft. of torque at 4,600 rpm (SAE net). Six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions are offered and LX, EX, and EX-L trims, each upgraded, are available..

Standard safety features include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, side curtain airbags with rollover sensor, electronic brake distribution (EBD) and brake assist. Standard drive-assistive features include a multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines; LaneWatch display is standard on EX and above.
