Here are the top five manufacturing plant construction projects that commenced in the UK in Q2 2022, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Delta Park Manufacturing Facility – $76m

The project involves the construction of a 59923m2 two-unit manufacturing facilities in Peterborough.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2023.

The project aims to provide better manufacturing facilities.

2. Peterborough Beverage Can Manufacturing Plant – $75m

The project involves the construction of a 58,064m2 manufacturing facilities on 12ha of land in Peterborough.

The $75 million (GBP60 million) project includes the following:

Construction work commenced in Q2 2022 and is expected to finish in Q2 2023.

The project aims to meet the demand for rapidly growing beverage cans with the increasing proportion of new beverages in the UK. being introduced in cans. This new facilities demonstrates CH’s commitment to meet expanding customer requirements.

3. Peterborough Oat Drinks Factory – $70m

The project involves the construction of an oat drink factory with production capacity of 300 million liters of oat drink per year in Great Haddon, Cambridgeshire, UK.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is forecast to complete in Q1 2023.

Oats required for the factory will be sourced locally across the UK and the factory will supply the UK market. The facilities will help continue Oatly’s drive to create a ‘systemic shift in society and the food system towards plant-based’.

4. Burghfield Multi Materials Facility – $50m

The project involves the construction of a Multi-Material Facility (MMF) production facilities at the Mearings in Burghfield, Reading.

Construction work commenced in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q2 2024.

The project aims to produce advanced defense equipment.

5. Cambridge Manufacturing Facility – $25m

The project involves the construction of a 7,045m2 manufacturing facilities in Cambridgeshire.

Construction work started in Q2 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2023.

The project aims to enable upscaled manufacturing processes to meet the increasing global demand for the Versius® Surgical Robotic System, now established as a valuable surgical tool in a number of hospitals across Europe, India, Australia, and the Middle East.
