The UK’s auto industry registered a 23.3% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 22.01% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.75% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.62% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.46% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s auto industry in July 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 49.52% in July 2022, registering an 11.49% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 25.08% share, an increase of 21.88% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 9%, registering an 115.38% rise from June 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.68%, up 107.69% over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4.85% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s auto industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Tata Motors posted 94 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 30.56% over the previous month, followed by Motorpoint with 50 jobs and a 43.82% drop. Redde Northgate with 49 IT jobs and Motorpoint Group with 38 jobs, recorded a 512.5% growth and a 32.14% decrease, respectively, while Mercedes-Benz Group recorded an increase of 250% with 7 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.53%, up by 5.78% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.36% share, registered an increase of 22.73% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.11% share, down 26.92% over June 2022.
