
The UK’s auto industry registered a 27.9% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.36% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.52% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 1.75% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s auto industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 47.24% in August 2022, registering a 50% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 26.99% share, a decrease of 44.3% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 7.36%, registering a 55.56% decline from July 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.36%, down 7.69% over the previous month.
Top five auto companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 39.01% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s auto industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Tata Motors posted 41 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 56.38% over the previous month, followed by Motorpoint Group with 25 jobs and a 34.21% drop. Redde Northgate with 21 IT jobs and Robert Bosch with 16 jobs, recorded a 57.14% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Horiba recorded an increase of 700% with 8 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.39%, down by 50.63% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.56% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.04% share, flat growth over July 2022.
