US-based company Tesla’s IT hiring declined 3.4% in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 1.69% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 10.91% share in the company’s total hiring activity in April 2022, and recorded a 0.06% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Tesla IT hiring in April 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Tesla, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 70.1% in April 2022, and a 43.92% drop over March 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 14.22% in April 2022, and registered a decline of 3.33%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 5.88% in April 2022, a 200% rise from March 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at Tesla

North America emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in April 2022 with a 72.55% share, which marked a 41.04% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 13.73%, registering a 16.67% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 13.73% share and a 42.86% drop over March 2022.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 71.57% share in April 2022, a 41.37% decline over March 2022. China featured next with a 13.24% share, up 92.86% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 10.29% share, a decline of 32.26% compared with March 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Tesla IT hiring activity in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.22%, down by 39.07% from March 2022. Entry Level positions with a 21.57% share, a decline of 44.3% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 14.22% share, down 3.33% over March 2022.
