Sweden’s auto industry registered a 7.2% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.77% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.12% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 66.67% in August 2022, registering a 42.86% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15% share, an increase of 28.57% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15%, registering a 47.06% decline from July 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.33%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Sweden’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s auto industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Scania posted 21 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 4.55% over the previous month, followed by Volkswagen with 20 jobs and a 4.76% drop. Robert Bosch with 10 IT jobs and Autoliv with 5 jobs, recorded a 233.33% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Veoneer recorded a decline of 66.67% with 2 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 86.67%, up by 36.84% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 10% share, registered an increase of 200% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 3.33% share, down 88.89% over July 2022.
