July 2022 has seen an increase of 4.71% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 7.29% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 1.4% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 41.38% in July 2022, a 52% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 20.69% in July 2022, marking a 57.14% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 17.24% in July 2022, a 66.67% rise from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 43.18% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s auto industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Robert Bosch posted 13 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 69.77% over the previous month, followed by Marcopolo with 5 jobs and a flat growth. Didi Global with 3 IT jobs and Continental with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 100% rise, respectively, while Honda Motor recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s auto industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with an 86.21% share in July 2022, a 45.65% decrease over June 2022. Colombia featured next with a 10.34% share, up 50% over the previous month. Turks and Caicos Islands recorded a 3.45% share, a flat growth compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.76%, down by 31.43% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 10.34% share, registered a decline of 66.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 6.9% share, down 75% over June 2022.
