June 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.63% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.4% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.26% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 49.5% in June 2022, a 32.14% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 21.91% in June 2022, marking an 8.65% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 9.22% in June 2022, a 17.24% drop from May 2022.

Top five auto companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 12.82% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s auto industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Dana posted 143 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 31.25% over the previous month, followed by Ford Motor with 121 jobs and an 18.79% drop. Robert Bosch with 111 IT jobs and PACCAR with 87 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 4.82% rise, respectively, while General Motors recorded a 135.71% increase with 66 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s auto industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with an 84.78% share in June 2022, a 29.11% decrease over May 2022. Mexico featured next with an 8.22% share, up 25.88% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 6.99% share, a growth of 59.65% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.19%, down by 27.43% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.83% share, registered a decline of 18.45% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.99% share, down 13.33% over May 2022.
